October 2007 introduced a new partnership between Lucerne Valley Self Storage and QuikStor. Owner Robert Riddle states, “We looked at many different options. When it came right down to it, QuikStor provided us with a package deal including software management, access control, and total site security with in-house installation all at very competitive pricing.” Along with QuikStor Express Professional Edition and QuikStor access control keypads, Lucerne Valley also uses the new QuikGuard II wireless unit alarm system, QuikCam video surveillance, 3d Site Graphics, facility intercom communication, online credit card processing, and eCommerce.

As to why the location selection, Riddle states, “Lucerne Valley is the crossroads of the High Desert. We are a very large rural community with one of the largest off-road areas in the United States. Selecting Lucerne Valley was easy between my partner and I. We have resided here for about 80 years combined. We contemplated this project for some time and felt the time was right”.

Robert Riddle’s brand new self-storage facility located in Lucerne Valley, CA totals 337 units upon phase II completion. This is Mr. Riddle’s first full fledged self-storage operation along with his partner and father-in-law Robert Delperdang. Thus, QuikStor’s expertise and experience was of great help throughout the entire project.

“QuikStor’s sales and installation teams work together great, with good communication from the products we selected, to pre-site construction meetings, installation and follow-up. The installation team showed up at our site prepared and on schedule. Installation was very clean and professional “said Robert Riddle when asked about QuikStor’s ability to work with him from concept to finish.

Paul Brandenburg, QuikStor sales consultant for Lucerne Valley, mentions, “the job for Lucerne Valley Self Storage was extra important to me because not only is Mr. Riddle the owner, but he was also the general contractor for this job. This makes attention to detail even more critical. We had to make sure that they had everything they needed for a smooth install. Bob was fantastic to work with and accommodated QuikStor installers to allow them to finish the job ahead of schedule”.

When asked about the results of QuikStor products at Lucerne Valley, Brandenburg states, “Being in the California high desert, wind speed and temperature can change without notice. Literally just after Lucerne Valley Self Storage opened in December, a torrential rain and high speed wind storm hit the site continuous for three days. Mother Nature is the true test for any outdoor security system. To our excitement, the site managers Frank Diaz and Daniel Ramsden reported not a single false alarm had occurred with their new QuikGuard II sensors.

In post follow-up, QuikStor asked Riddle for final comments:

In your opinion, why do you feel Lucerne Valley Self Storage will be the premier storage site in Lucerne Valley? More importantly, what is unique about Lucerne Valley that you feel sets your site apart from local competitor sites in the area?

“We have a high traffic (visibility) location. With the help of Trachte Building and QuikStor, we have put together a well thought out project with state of the art features that will provide us the tools to be successful in this competitive market.”
