Owned by Ron and Linda Holman, Holman Mini Storage, Inc. was started in 1996 on a 10 acre tract of vacant family land on the East side of Broken Arrow. At the time, Broken Arrow had a population of 65,000, population to date is 100,000 and growing. "Having no idea what we were getting into,” mentions Linda, "we started with 4 135' x 40' buildings. Two years later, we added 4 more buildings. Two years following, we added an additional 3 more buildings.” Holman Mini also developed additional acres for RV Parking.

Holman Mini Storage is managed by Keli Eckhart, also Ron & Linda's daughter. Linda and Keli work mostly in the office handling tenant relations, and Ron oversees facility maintenance.

Summarizing Holman Mini Storage's services, Linda states "Holman Mini Storage provides a live-on-site security guard, security cameras, and the facility is fenced and lighted. In addition, Holman is the Broken Arrow agent for Penske Truck Rental, which works hand in hand with our storage business. We also sell moving supplies, boxes, bubble wrap, locks, etc.”

Linda continues on to describe Holman's search for management software during the selection phase:
"When we opened, we knew nothing about the storage business, our growth has come from trial and error. The first order of business was to decide which software to use to operate the facility. We looked at 3 or 4 different ones, QuikStor was the best by far. It is user friendly (very important). The program controls your daily and monthly tasks, from invoicing once a month to your daily report which gives all of your information for previous years and months, plus, at a glance you can see how you are doing on any given day. The gate controller is the most important part of our facility. It gives you (the manager/owner) the freedom to leave the property, knowing the controller is in charge. It monitors the tenants' time on site and only allows access if they are current on rent. The QuikStor Support Team is the best. They are quick and efficient, if you have a problem they will stay with you until the problem is solved.”

In closing, Linda, leaves the following advice for storage owners, "I think our success is due to our facility having an attractive appearance, clean, good location with easy access, fair and reasonable pricing and a lot of hard work from Ron, Keli, and myself. We treat our tenants with respect and we appreciate them storing with us. Any complaints are addressed quickly and any problems are solved as soon as possible. If you greet people with a smile and call them by name, it makes their day and your day brighter. We really enjoy the storage business and hope to have many more successful years."
